The IOCA Spring Conference 1999 and MIT Spring Circus will be held at Pittsfield State Forest in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts. As always the spring conference will be a fun filled weekend of outdoor activities and socializing with other like-minded students from the various college outdoor clubs.
The activities will include:
Rafting
Whitewater Kayaking
Caving
Hiking
Mountain Biking
Canoeing
any other fun things we think up between now and then....
AND, of course, we'll have square dancing on Saturday night to be followed by a grand game of energy ball around the campfire (and if you don't know what energy ball is, you are missing one of the best campfire games in existence and owe it to yourself to show up!).
We will provide all the camping sites, firewood, rafts, canoes, and the square dance caller. Each club is responsible for their own food, transportation, and any necessary equipment (e.g. mountain bikes, whitewater kayaks) Whitewater kayaking will be open only to intermediate or above paddlers who have the blessing of their clubs kayaking chairman.
