At around 6pm on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 the Athena file server
Nyx crashed. As a result of the crash, there was some disk
corruption in your home directory. We are working to identify which
files are most likely to have been affected by the corruption and will
send you email when we have more information. We expect this to
happen before the end of the day on Thursday. In the interim, if you
notice corruption in your home directory, please be aware that we are
working on the problem.

If you're experiencing problems using Athena that may be a
result of this, please contact the Athena Online Consultants
at x3-4435 or by using the "olc" command at your athena% prompt.

We apologize for this inconvenience, if you have any questions feel
free to send us email
