For those of you with Solaris machines, greetings. Xplay doesn't compile out of the box on Solaris machines yet, but a patch is available to make it run on Solaris (contributers so far include myself, Achim Held (ach@informatik.uni-kiel.d400.de), and Jay Novello (jay@itre.itre.uncecs.edu) --- Achim fixed some problems with signal handling, and Jay helped improve Sparc5 support). The latest version of the patch is included in this directory, as the file solaris.patch-0.6; please be sure to compile the code with -DSOLARIS after applying this patch. (With luck, imake-generated Makefiles will do this for you automatically, but it never hurts to be sure). For the particularly daring, I've also made available a Solaris binary (the SunOS binary is bundled with the source, a mistake I'll fix for 0.7). Unfortunately, this is compiled against Motif 1.0.3, and due to a bug in the scale widget which has been fixed in more recent Motif's, the progress annunciator for streaming reads gets clipped. If you can, you're better off compiling your own; if not, the compressed binary is available in this directory as xplay-0.6.solaris.Z. Good luck. rst
